Things That Won't Make You Lose Weight

Weight loss is so simple

I'm not saying it's easy Reader

But the actual process is so simple

And people that are trying to take your money will overcomplicate it 💸

They will make you think there's a million different things you need to do

They will make you think there's a 'secret' combination of carbohydrates, vitamins and squat variations you need to 'unlock' weight loss

There isn't

All you need to do is take in less energy than you use

i.e. create a calorie deficit

There are plenty of things you DON'T need to worry about

And I HAVE to make this clear

Because a lot of people get overwhelmed thinking they need to have everything perfect

And they don't even start

So here are 3 things you DON'T need to worry about;

  1. Sleep 😴

People will have you believe you need 10 hours of uninterrupted, perfect sleep to lose weight

That's just wrong

Sleep length and quality won't make or break weight loss

As long as you're getting 6-8 hours of sleep each night, you'll be fine

2. Supplements 💊

If there was a supplement that made you lose weight, everyone would take it, and we wouldn't have an obesity epidemic

I recommend everyone has some whey protein in their store cupboard for days when you can't get enough protein in

Vitamin D and Omega 3 are both probably also good for overall health

But none of this will directly do ANYTHING for weight loss

Save your money

3. Special Exercises 🏋️‍♂️

Resistance training (lifting weights) is great for building muscle (or keeping the muscle you have)

But it doesn't directly lead to weight loss

You might burn 250 calories in a lifting session

But you could get the same effect by simply NOT eating a few squares of chocolate (which takes no time or effort)

Focus on the things that actually make a difference

  1. How many calories you're consuming

2. How much activity you're doing daily
