Onion Soup and 20,000 Steps A Day

I know I always go on about sustainability

But it's a bit of a wanky word and some people don't know what it means

But you need to understand because when it comes to weight, it's SO IMPORTANT

Without sustainability, dieting is totally pointless Reader

Because if you can't sustain the way you've been dieting forever, you'll eventually gain back all the weight you lost

You might even gain back MORE

That means that potentially YEARS have gone by you've ended up in worse position

All that time wasted

But what the hell does sustainability mean?

Well firstly I'll tell you what's NOT sustainable

Only eating onion soup and doing 20,000 steps a day

The irony is doing these two things would guarantee weight loss for anyone

AND you'd lose weight quickly 📉

The problem with this approach is, you can't do it forever

So you go back to how you were eating before, which means you'll go back to the weight you were before

NOT sustainable ❌

So what is sustainable?

It's doing things that you're going to do for the rest of your life, but modifying them a bit

Some examples;

  • Join in with family BBQs but go for fish and chicken breast instead of burgers and sausages 🍗 🍔

  • Still get takeaways, but less often and go for better options (i.e. not a whole large pizza to yourself) 🍕

  • You can still drink booze, but limit it to outside the house, or at social occasions 🍺🍷

  • You can still have a lazy day on the sofa, as long as you do the steps to make up for it the next day 🚶‍♂️

Doing all of these things will allow you to lose weight and live a normal life

Yes, the weight loss will be slower, but it'll last forever 📆

The alternative is just yo-yo dieting forever

It's not just onion soup and 20,000 steps a day though, there are other dieting methods are aren't sustainable

Like;

  • Keto

  • Carnivore diet

  • HIIT workouts 7x per week

  • Training for a marathon (just to lose weight)

  • Cutting out bread, chocolate or anything else completely

Some people spend years messing around with stuff like this
