Excuses Are GOOD

Published 25 days ago • 1 min read

I bet you make excuses all the time Reader

I sure as hell do

I make excuses NOT to do things

And I make excuses TO DO things

And when it comes to tour health/physique/weight the second one is MUCH more important

If you're unhappy with your physique or your weight, it's probably because you've made too many excuses NOT to do things

Stuff like;

  • "I don't have time to cook so I'm going to order a takeaway" 🍕

  • "It's raining outside so I'm not going to bother doing my steps" 🌧

  • "I don't want to waste my Saturday going to the gym" 🏋️‍♀️

  • "I can't be bothered making the extra effort to cook some protein to go with my pasta" 🍝

  • "I feel stressed so I'm not going to deal with the issue, I'll just eat 72 squares of chocolate instead" 🍫

All this is negative, and it's going to make your situation worse

If you're ever going to make any progress you need to change your mindset

You to make excuses TO DO the things that are going to get you results

Using the examples above

  • "I know I don't have much time to cook during the week so I'm going batch cook on Sunday to make sure I have a calorie-appropriate, high protein meal ready to go in the microwave each day" 👨‍🍳

  • "It's raining outside but I'm going to put my coat on, put my hood up and at least do a 20 minute walk" 🧥

  • "Time is precious at the weekend but exercise is a priority, I'm going to hit the gym first thing for 45 minutes"

  • "I'm going to have a tin of Tuna with my pasta because it's quick and I know I need to get some protein in" 🐟

  • "I'm stressed, so instead of eating I'm going to do something else to make me feel better" 📗 🧘‍♀️ 🏓📺

It's a TOTALLY different mindset

You need to recognise that your weight/phsique is a priority (if it is) and make excuses TO DO things that are going to improve it

There's ALWAYS going to be an opportunity to rationalise NOT doing something

You need to ignore those MOST of the time

Making excuses is good

IF those excuses help you get to where you want to be

I say it all the time But I have to keep repeating it because some people just don't believe me 🤷♂️ Weight loss is simple You just need to eat fewer calories than you use for a long period of time But most people don't have a problem starting and losing a few pounds I'm sure you've managed to lose 2-5 pounds before with a bit of effort Reader Where most people struggle is the actual SPEED of weight loss It's always slower than people expect 🐢 And sometimes it'll just stop for a few days or...

Summer is just around the corner It sure as hell doesn't seem like it Reader In the UK, it's barely been above 15 degrees C for the last 6 months 🥶 It's enough to make you forget summer even exists 😎 But it does And when it comes, you're going to want to be in shape The problem is, you'll only start thinking about it when the sun finally comes out And by then, it's too late Let's say you have a holiday, wedding or some other event in mid-August when you want to look your best Generally, the...
